Bois calme

In the heart of Chamberí, this renovation project is rooted in a search for balance between the timeless elegance of classical achitecture and the precision of a contemporary language.
The intervention enhances the original envelope through mouldings, proportions, and a symmetrical composition, into which bespoke furniture and custom joinery elements are carefully integrated.

Dark wood, used in the bookcases, wall cladding, and the central kitchen island, brings depth and warmth, engaging in dialogue with light-toned surfaces that reinforce the sense of brightness and spaciousness.

The kitchen is conceived as a clean, sculptural volume, where stone wraps around the central piece and naturally organises the domestic space.

In the living area, the fireplace and framed bookcases create a serene focal point, carefully designed through symmetry and detail.

The bathrooms are resolved through precise geometry and carefully modulated detailing, where stone flooring is combined with bespoke patterned inlays that guide movement, frame the space, and introduce a subtle graphic identity.

Each element is intended to build an atmosphere of calm, where visual order and the nobility of materials define the experience of inhabiting the space.

María de Leste

Interior architect

I am an interior architect specializing in the creation of spaces where wellbeing, functionality, and beauty coexist effortlessly.

My work is rooted in a deep understanding of each individual, each need, and each way of inhabiting a space. My sensitivity to interiors comes from a family heritage: a lineage of women with a remarkable aesthetic sensibility who awakened, from an early age, my eye for beauty and my passion for design.

From this emerges a distinctive vision — serene, timeless, and deeply personal — capable of interpreting a variety of styles, whether classical, contemporary, or countryside-inspired, and transforming them into harmonious, elegant interiors with a strong sense of identity, always in dialogue with the essence of those who live within them.

Paloma Ibarra

Architect

I am Paloma Ibarra, architect and founder of Estudio Ibarra.

Since childhood, I have always associated home with happiness.

I hold vivid memories of every corner of the house where I grew up, the home where I spent my summers, and the houses of family and friends…

As I grew older, I found myself collecting images of spaces that deeply moved me.

They all shared one common quality: they inspired happiness.

Estudio Ibarra bears my family name, and that is precisely what I want our atelier to become for you: a family whose greatest purpose is to help you create a home in which to truly feel happy.
